Dawn: Glad you asked. The ducks are trained. After I change clothing from work I head to their primary pen which is 50 feet by 50 feet. This pen shields them from day time animals like dogs while in it. When they see me they come from the pond and I feed them and close the gate. When the sun goes down, they go inside the secondary pen on their own, the one in the picture, by themselves and I give them fresh water and lock the pen. In the morning around 6 a.m., I let them out, feed them and open the gate and they go to the pond. The pond is their daytime sanctuary b/c they can swim to the center to protect them from day time threats. During the day they feed on grasses and bugs. All this happens with food and training and consistent behaviors. The dogs have a routine each day and so do the cats. Keep them on routine and everything is fine.

Michele: You're right. I suppose I am asking questions of the universe. I'm trying to figure what all the pieces mean. As Freud said, "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar."

"Side by each" is also a standard French Canadian phrase. Perhaps it was brought to the south by the Cajun folk. The full phrase my "Frenchie" husband uses is "Side by each, too close apart" when describing how cars are parked, or other things are lined up.

What questions are you asking the universe these days, dear Audobon Ron? Because that is what I get from that dream. You are seeking some answers.

I like your take on the dream. I'm of the opinion that, like movies (which mine are, in my head) dreams hold no meaning or influence. They're strictly for entertainment purposes only.

I have a question about the duck's pie'd a terre. Do they know when it's bedtime and just go in and wait for you to lock the door? Or do you blow a whistle to let them know it's time, like the Peabody ducks? And if the hen is unhappy with the drake, where does he sleep? In the doghouse? But if you're already in there, do you make room for him? Since you're probably the one who gave him the advice that got him into trouble to begin with?

Just wonderin.

Okay, now that most have weighed in I'll give you my take on the dream. For some reason I thought it was time for me to sleep with the dead and to let sleeping dogs lie. But the nymph was telling me it is not such time. Then I thought, a nymph is better than an old cranky valet parking lot attendant telling me it is time to pick up my car. See what I mean? More theatrical that way. :)

My weird technicolor dream was about sticking my finger to check my blood sugar, and it was gushing like I had hit an artery.

"Side-by-each". You are the only person I have ever heard that from, besides my brother and my dear departed grandfather.

Ruthie: That's for the correction. This is how I learn. Even though German is a very difficult language, I persist. Note correction. :)
